You don't want to spend your hard-earned time figuring out local time and timezone differences. You want to a fast and simple tool that puts you in control and lets you figure out the best time to have that meeting or call that person.
WorldTime.io is that tool. It represents the front-end of our ground-breaking local time resolution system. We've packaged up our complex system in to a Google-esque search box making local time for any place on earth never more than one click away.
Not only do we cover every country, city, town, village, zip code, point of interest and street on earth but we also support searching by geo-coordinates to find the local time for any point on the entire surface of the earth. That adds up to billions of data points and represents the largest collection of world time information available anywhere in the world.
To develop our "world time engine" we poured over hundreds of maps, successfully navigated hundreds of international charters and picked our way through multinational sea boundary legislation. We then painstakingly coded up every data point we could find. We brought together all the timezone rules and time changes for every place on earth since such record-taking began (in 1895) and then we heavily optimized the process of looking up local time against that database - culminating in the service we provide today.
WorldTime.io and the world time engine that powers this site run across a large number load-balanced, high-availability computer servers across the Internet. This architecture gives us the capability to serve millions of requests each day with unlimited capacity for plenty more users as and when we (and you) may need it.
World Time Engine Ltd, our fully incorporated parent company (registered in England and Wales), provides consulting and computing services to some of the largest companies and governments in the world. Through these services World Time Engine Ltd has built a great deal of trust as the preferred time information provider to a number of major public and private organisations. We proudly provide our services to companies such as Starbucks, Walmart, Hyatt Corporation, Raytheon Systems, PartyPoker.com and a number of government-run meterological institutes.
This website is subsidised by these activities and is provided as a free tool for everyone both now and in the future.
